A day without Dickhead 45 hogging the Headlines!

None of the "Fake News" covered Dickhead 45 today!   Thank God!   It was so refreshing!   Not sure about "State TV" because I don't watch it!

Future 5!

I'm proud to say that I'm a volunteer for this wonderful organization!

"Future 5 believes in all the potential of high school students!   Founded in 2009 by Clif McFeely this mentoring program believes that all of Stamford CT’s high school students should be connected to their full life’s potential, regardless of income or family circumstances.   They do this by offering motivated students an opportunity for membership in a caring community.   A community that helps them connect with themselves and the character traits of optimism, determination, and grit.   Future 5 volunteers do whatever it takes to help students stay on track through high school and achieve a plan for college or career training."

"Hello...this is American Airlines..."

Thursday, May 8th around noon:
Phone rings.   I don't pick up.   Automatically switches over to our answering machine.

"Hello.   This is American Airlines calling with a flight update.   Unfortunately, American Airlines flight #101 from London's Heathrow to New York's John F. Kennedy International Airport is now expected to depart at 11:00am and due to arrive at JFK at 2:15pm.   This call may be recorded."

WTF?   Must be a wrong number?

Around 5:00pm my youngest daughter shows up with our grandson in tow.   As is often the case, he likes to sneak up the stairs and jump into the kitchen and yell...SURPRISE!   Thursday was no exception.   However, a few seconds later, someone else yelled surprise!

Who you might ask?   It was my oldest daughter (who resides in London...DUH)!   She and her sister had planned this surprise over the course of the last week or so!   Needless to say, my wife and I were in a state of shock!   Hugs & kisses and yes...a few tears flowed!

Why the surprise visit?

  • My wife (her mother) just retired.
  • I had just been released from the hospital after knee surgery.
  • Mother's Day!
  • Our 40th wedding anniversary!   Just happened to fall on Mother's Day this year!

The 15%!

For the few of you that follow my little space on the blog-o-sphere, you know I've written about inter-racial relationships on an on-going basis.
My wife sent me this link to the "We are the 15%" website.   It's an awesome site that was spawned from the backlash of the infamous Cherrios commercial.

I've posted my thoughts regarding inter-racial relationships here...and here...and here...and here any many more times!   As I've often said, I wish I could be around 20 or 30 years from now to see the (beautiful) offspring of all these inter-racial families and their impact on America, if not the world!   Yes...they are really beautiful children in more ways than you can image...and they will change America and the world!!!

Swiffer and the Rukavinas...Nice!

Wow...loving this ad!

However, similar to the original Cherrios inter-racial ad, the comments on YouTube have been disabled.   Why?   Based on the racist/hatred comments posted on the original Cherrios ad, I'm sure YouTube knew this would/could get ugly responses from the wackos in America!

Below is more background/info on the Rikavina's family.

I've posted other entries about inter-racial couples before and I'm proud to have so many of them within my immediate and extended family and close circle of friends!   I wish I could be around 20 or 30 years from now to see their offspring and witness (hopefully) how America may have changed!

12 Minutes of Happiness!   London & Moscow too!

Just posted my first venture into Pharrell William's "Happiness" videos yesterday.   After a few more hours viewing even more videos today, I found this 12 minute "Supercut" video.   It brings it all together and fuels my curiosity to try and view ALL the "Happy" videos!

#HAPPYDAY Supercut

As I posted earlier, my youngest daughter is visiting her sister in London!   My daughters are happy and, apparently, so is London!

LONDON is Happy!

With all the sh*t that's going down in Russia, Crimea and the Ukraine, even some younger folks in Moscow appear to be happy too!   I know John McCain ain't happy!

MOSCOW is Happy!

I don't know 'bout you...but these make me happy!

Pharrell:   Spread the Happiness!

I stumbled upon this beauty earlier this week.   It is part of a collection located at happyinnyc.com.   I thought I had discovered a new found wonder!   (I guess I've been hiding under a rock?)   Then I went to Youtube and clicked on similar videos and discovered that Pharrell William's "Happy" is a world-wide phenomenon!   Since then, I have spent several hours watching these "Happy" videos from around the world!   We're talking Japan, Abu Dhabi, Kuwait, Poland...and on and on!

Each of the videos provide a unique and creative view of hope & happiness and offer an escape from all the sh*t that's going on in this world.   But more than anything else...Pharrell's work and all these videos, related to "Happy", definitely prove that music is a universal language!   Again, I've spent hours looking at these and I'm determined to post all of them here on my little space in the blog-o-sphere!   They're awesome.   I'm addicted!

Studies on Hysteria!

Studies on Hysteria
...the naked truth about life, the universe, everything!

I stumbled upon this German beauty during my normal daily jaunts through cyberspace!   It blew me away.   It is DEFINITELY NSFW (not safe for work)...at least not in the greatest country on earth!   It includes full frontal (male/female) nudity, and I mean FULL...but as stated in the tag line...I believe it speaks the truth!   Just brilliant beyond words!

Make sure you view the full 7.47 minutes (including the credits) for an awesome twist @ 7:41!

Footnote:
What's equally...if not more amazing...is that this is apparently an AD for a German (?) jeans company named Colorado Denim!   I don't think the Grahams will be buying these jeans!

"First Kiss" versus Syria's Children and MH370!

) Already 8 million views of the "First Kiss" in the last 48 hours!   Wow!   What a nice diversion from all the sh*t that's going on in this world!

From the CPAC wackos to the children of Syria...

) to the missing Malaysian Flight # 370...

I can only take but so much...so the "First Kiss" was a nice respite!   So was this Honey Maid ad.

Helps make me see a postive light and get through the day and all this other bullsh*t!

High school wrestler's amazing gesture

Saw this on the Today show this morning.   With all the crap going on in this country/world...this was really heart warming and a breath of fresh air!
As reported in USAToday:
"It was a heartwarming moment of sportsmanship humanity following a tough defeat.

High school wrestler Malik Stewart squared off against Mitchell McKee in the Minnesota state wrestling championship at the 120-pound weight class and after a hard-fought match, he was eventually pinned by McKee. The match itself wasn’t the story, though — it was what happened just after.

Instead of storming off, angry at the loss, Stewart shook McKee’s hand and then walked over to McKee’s father, who was watching from the sidelines. Stewart knew McKee’s father was suffering from cancer, so he shook his hand, gave him a hug, and told him to keep fighting. He then congratulated him on his son’s victory.

The fans in attendance cheered the moment, and there were more than a few tears shed."

More detail of this heart warming story at Minnesota's NBC affiliate kare11.
