The crazies in the GOP are really crazy!!!

  • President Barack Obama is a Muslim.   Numerous polls show that more than 50 percent of all Republicans believe this untrue claim to be true.
  • President Barack Obama is not a legal citizen of the Unites States.   A September poll shows 29 percent of Republican voters believe Obama was born outside of the United State, not in Hawaii, where he was born.
  • Forty-nine percent of Republicans do not believe in evolution.
  • Allied forces did not find weapons of mass destruction in Iraq after we invaded, but more than 41 percent of Republicans believe they did in a 2015 poll.
  • Numerous Republican politicians claim Planned Parenthood officials sell fetal tissue so they can buy Lamborghinis.
  • Roughly 40 percent of Republican voters do not believe the earth is warming because of human activity.
  • Iran does not have the capacity to attack the U.S. with nuclear weapons, but 45 percent of Republicans think it does and that military action is needed right now.
  • Some GOP presidential candidates and members of Congress believe ISIS intends to attack the U.S. on our soil; they don’t buy the idea that what ISIS really wants is a Islamic caliphate in and around Syria.
  • Republicans in the House claim simply “repealing” Obamacare is a practical and politically possible option.
  • Over a third of Republican voters believe Donald Trump represents their best shot at winning the presidency.

Ted Cruz & Spouse sign up for Obamacare!

You just can't make this sh*t up!!!

Ted Cruz, one of the loudest critics of Obamacare, will soon be using it for health insurance coverage.   "We will presumably go on the exchange and sign up for health care and we're in the process of transitioning over to do that," Cruz, a Republican candidate for president, told The Des Moines Register Tuesday.   Cruz's wife, Heidi, is going on an unpaid leave of absence from her job at Goldman Sachs to join Cruz full time on the campaign trail, Cruz told the Register.   Asked if it chafes at all to have to rely on Obamacare, Cruz told the Register: "Well, it is written in the law that members will be on the exchanges without subsidies just like millions of Americans so that's – I think the same rules should apply to all of us.   Members of Congress should not be exempt."   But, Cruz added, he'd still like to see Obamacare repealed in its entirety.

And if the above doesn't convince you that Mr. Cruz is a nut job...there's always his switch to a preference for country music after September 9th, 2011!

Like I said, you just can't make this sh*t up, but what's even scarier is the number of ignorant/uniformed Americans that want this whack job to be President of the United States of America!   That scares the hell out of me!

But then again...there's always Mr. Huckabee and Mr. Santorum waiting in the wings!

Independence Day in America!

OK America, on this Independence Day, perhaps it’s time for a re-assessment of our claim as the greatest country on earth.   Don’t get me wrong, I love this place, but we are not without flaws!

Given the Republican primaries, among other things, I’ve revisited the concept of America’s greatness.   C’mon!   If for nothing else, the fact that so many Americans actually voted for Bachmann, Santorum, & Cain & Perry or believed that “birther” Trump was worthy of the office of the Presidency continues to scare the sh*t out of me!   Did I mention Newt?   Add to that, 47% of the American electorate thought that Sarah Palin qualified to be a heartbeat away from the Presidency still has me shaking in my boots.

America is a leader among the world in religious beliefs, incarceration and defense spending!   Is that greatness?   Sadly enough there are some Americans that still believe that President Obama is a Muslim born in Kenya.   But American intelligence is a whole ‘nother matter.   I’m certain that many Americans probably couldn’t pass the test to become a naturalized citizen.   These are the very same people that are probably fighting immigration reform tooth and nail.

America is a divided nation.   Some have said it’s the college educated, the minorities and the young…versus everyone else.   Red state versus blue state!   Our issues are many and they add to this divisiveness:

In spite of all of this, I do believe that America can lay claim to the title of “Land of Opportunity”.   I love this country and most…but not all...of its people.   But given the current climate and state of affairs…I question its greatness.

Pass the toilet paper please!

As predicted a few hours ago…the proverbial sh*t has definitely hit the fan!
  • Tony Perkins of Family Research Council said Obama’s position has handed Mitt Romney “the key to social conservative support”

  • American Values head and former FRC president Gary Bauer claimed to be “perplexed” that Obama “is spending even one second of his time thinking about how and to radically transform the institution of marriage”.   Bauer also commented in an email to supporters that Obama “may have just lost the presidency”

  • Brian Brown of the National Organization for Marriage pledged to defeat Obama and warned "God is the author of marriage, and we will not let an activist politician like Barack Obama who is beholden to gay marriage activists for campaign financing to turn marriage into something political that can be redefined according to presidential whim”

  • The Traditional Values Coalition president Andrea Lafferty maintained Obama’s view on marriage equality displays his radical ideology”.

  • Matt Smith of the Catholic Advocate said Obama’s support for marriage equality is part of an “anti-Catholic agenda”

  • Rob Schenck of the Faith and Action commented “Frankly, I question whether he really does in his heart-of-hearts.   Maybe I'm naive, but, if I'm right, it's even worse, because it means he has surrendered a moral conviction for political expediency.   Very wrong and very sad.”

  • Bill Donohue of the Catholic League claimed Obama “has fully broken with his Christian moorings” and suggested he also favors polygamy.

  • Jim Campbell of the Alliance Defense Fund said his endorsement “promotes the creation of even more fatherless and motherless homes”.

More wacko right-wing details here!

Obama supports gay marriage!

video platformvideo managementvideo solutionsvideo player

I'm happy and somewhat sadden by this!   Happy because I fully support his position and I'm proud that he had the balls to do this!   Saddened because I think the timing is piss poor.   He should have held out until after the election!   As stated in the title...the sh*t has hit the fan and all the religious wingnuts and country bumpkins are already dancin' in the streets and they're gonna have a field day with this!   More bigoted crap that they can throw at the President.   It's gonna get really ugly.   Fox news is already on this like a dog in heat!

This election is now gonna be tighter than a knat's *ss! Even some gays are saying that he only did this to help him get re-elected!   UGH!   Trust me on this!  The political consequences could be huge!   Pass the toilet paper please!

Mississppi, Alabama...and Kentucky too!

Well...the votes are in! Some Republikkkans in my favorite 3 states believe that Santorum is their guy!   Why am I not surprised?   Some incredibly scary data according to the Public Polling Policy website:

Alabama:

  • Edmund Petus Bridge (Bloody Sunday)
  • Blew up a church (and killed 4 innocent young girls)
  • Governor George Wallace
  • 9th poorest state in America (16.1% poverty rate)
  • 2nd fattest state in America (32.3% are obese)
  • 2nd most religious state in America (86% believe in God with absolute certainty)
  • 9th lowest state with college degrees (31.6%)
  • last state to repeal anti-miscegenation (interracial marriage) law in 2000!   Yes…2000!

Mississippi:

  • Murdered James Chaney, Andrew Goodman, and Michael Schwerner (details)
  • Murdered Emmett Till (details)
  • Poorest state in America (21.3% poverty rate)
  • 3rd Fattest state in America (32.2% are obese)
  • Most religious state in America (91% believe in God with absolute certainty)
  • 5th lowest state with college degrees (29.3%)
Although the citizens of Kentucky have already given Santorum their "blessings", they're right up there with Mississippi and Alabama.

Kentucky:
  • home to Mitch McConnell (Senate Republican leader)…born in ALABAMA!!!
  • home to Rand Paul
  • 8th poorest state in America (17.3% poverty rate)
  • 6th fattest state in America (29.5% of the people are obese
  • 7th most religious state in America (83% believe in God with absolute certainty)
  • 4th lowest state with college degrees (29.2%)
I could never live or retire to any of these beauties!

Rick Santorum

It will continue to amaze me that anyone (other than Santorum himself) thinks that he should be the next President of the United States.   Below are a few “beauties” from "Frothy Mix”.
  1. Annul same-sex marriages
  2. I’m for income inequality
  3. Contraception is a “License to do things”
  4. Gay soldiers cause problems for people living in close quarters
  5. Obama should oppose abortion because he is black
  6. We don’t need food stamps because obesity rates are so high
  7. Abortion exceptions to protect women’s health are phony
  8. Health reform will kill my child
  9. Uninsured Americans should spend less on cell phone bills
  10. Insurers should discriminate against people with pre-existing conditions

Details on the above can be found here.

And he claims to be against big government!   As reported in the NY Times:

In the years before he lost his Pennsylvania Senate seat in 2006, Rick Santorum worked hard to win hundreds of millions of dollars in additional Medicare money for hospitals in Puerto Rico.   He sponsored at least two Senate bills and pushed to amend a mammoth Medicare overhaul to include the extra spending, which would have benefited Universal Health Services, a Pennsylvania-based hospital management company with facilities in Puerto Rico.   If it seems at odds with the small-government philosophy Mr. Santorum now espouses in his presidential campaign, it was in line with his legislative efforts to help businesses in his state.

And some of those businesses were happy to return the favor.

Within months of leaving the Senate, Mr. Santorum joined the board of Universal Health Services, where he collected $395,000 in director’s fees and stock options before resigning last year.   He also became a consultant to Consol Energy, after years of advocating drilling and extraction policies helpful to the company, a Pennsylvania gas and coal producer.   And he consulted for the American Continental Group, a lobbying firm whose clients won earmarks he sponsored.

On a personal note…it scares the hell out of me to think that his 5 children are home schooled.   That will just add 5 more wackos to the mix!

It also scares me how many GOPers in Iowa and New Hamsphire thought he should be in the White House!   It scares me…but he’ll never get there!   South Carolina...bring it on!

Santorum - Same sex marriage destroyed the economy!

from Rick "Frothy Mix" Santorum:

"Letting the family break down and in fact encouraging it and inciting more breakdown through this whole redefinition of marriage debate, and not supporting strong nuclear families and not supporting and standing up for the dignity of human life.   Those lead to a society that’s broken."

"If you think that we can be a society that kills our own, and that disregards the family and the important role it plays, and doesn’t teach moral values and the important role of faith in the public square, and then expect people to be good, decent and moral when they behave economically, if you look at the root cause of the economic problems that we’re dealing with on Wall Street and Main Street I might add, from 2008, they were huge moral failings.   And you can’t say that we’re gonna take morality out of the public square, morality out of our schools, God out of our schools, and then expect people to behave decently in a country that requires, capitalism requires some strong modicum of moral consciousness if it’s gonna be successful."

7/11 - Today on the Right!

Michele Bachmann and Mitt Romney switched places as the frontrunner in an already tight Republican primary race in Iowa.   Bachmann is now leading Romney 25 percent to 21 percent in a poll conducted for The Iowa Republican.

Rick Santorum pledges not to cheat on his wife by signing “The Marriage Vow”.   Aside from the Marriage Vow asking candidates to practice personal fidelity it also asks them to reaffirm that marriage is between a man and a woman, defend the constitutionality of the Defense of Marriage Act, end anti-marriage parts of the tax code and to fight against the enactment of Sharia Law in the United States.   Oh...and then there WAS that statement about black folks in America!

Tim Pawlenty does not support gay rights but offered up that he likes a Lady Gaga song that does!

Somos Republicans, the nation’s largest Hispanic GOP watchdog group with an Iowa affiliate, has taken exception to statements made by Herman Cain (back in June) that the way to solve the nation’s concerns with illegal immigration is to build a moat filled with alligators and an electrified “Great Wall of China.”

Newt Gingrich labeled the economic situation in the U.S. as the “Obama depression,” just days after a dismal jobs report and signs negotiations on the debt deal are faltering.

Rush Limbaugh says "Media should pretend Caylee Anthony was aborted", so they don’t feel bad!

Sarah Palin is shocked by the price of Slim Jims!
