Paul Cadden...WOW!

This is NOT a photograph!   Awesome!
From the artist, Paul Cadden...
"Although the drawings and paintings I make are based upon photographs, videos, stills, etc., the idea is to go beyond the photograph."

Studies on Hysteria!

Studies on Hysteria
...the naked truth about life, the universe, everything!

I stumbled upon this German beauty during my normal daily jaunts through cyberspace!   It blew me away.   It is DEFINITELY NSFW (not safe for work)...at least not in the greatest country on earth!   It includes full frontal (male/female) nudity, and I mean FULL...but as stated in the tag line...I believe it speaks the truth!   Just brilliant beyond words!

Make sure you view the full 7.47 minutes (including the credits) for an awesome twist @ 7:41!

Footnote:
What's equally...if not more amazing...is that this is apparently an AD for a German (?) jeans company named Colorado Denim!   I don't think the Grahams will be buying these jeans!

“Towel Dance” by Cirque du Soleil performers

Funny and ingenious!   This literally takes a set of balls!   Perhaps they'll be asked to perform at the 2014 RNC Convention?

After all...love is love!   David Gilmore

During my voyage through the internet today, I stumbled across this beauty.   I think this image is over the top!

Here's what David Gilmore posted with this picture on his blog named "Pretty on the Outside":

"My partner and I will celebrate our 18th anniversary in May however, as California residents we can't wed.   A numbered of my closest friends have recently gotten married in Washington state and couldn't be happier for them.   I painted the HRC logo on my and my partner's hands and as we took the photos, he placed our hands on his heart.   A simple statement about love, solidarity, and commitment...sounds like a marriage, right?"

Given the whole Prop-8 and DOMA stuff going on over the last two days...I decided to post the above image and dig deeper into David Gilmore's web site.   Damn!   This dude has some artistic talent.

That's a body painting on the back of a dude!   Damn!   Check out more of his stuff at his website or on Etsy...especially if you're a NeNe Leeks fan!   There's more of David's artwork at Imagekind!

Awesome!

Lil Buck?   Lil WHO???

Just saw this dude on the Stephen Colbert show.   First time I ever saw him.   I was incredibly impressed.   Have I been hiding under a rock?   As the young folks say...his dancing is "sick"!

Check out his one minute video for GAP.   Awesome!

So of course I had to check out Wikipedia!

"Lil Buck is an American dancer. He was the artist in residence at the 2011 Vail International Dance Festival. Lil Buck has performed with cellist Yo-Yo Ma in the United States and in China at the U.S.-China Forum on the Arts and Culture."

"Sick" indeed!

Just bought me a print of my President!   My daughter "tweeted" and provided a link to Marion Bolognesi.   Ms. Bolognesi's work is over the top!   Check it out!

Artist Marion Bolognesi lives and works in New York City where she splits her time between accessories design and her personal passion for expressive, illustrative waterclor painting.   She received a BFA with a focus in Illustration from Massachusetts College of Art and Design in Boston in 2003 and has exhibited her paintings and work around the globe.

Brandon Stanton’s Humans of New York

Saw this guy (the photographer) on the Today Show this morning.
Decided to go check out his blog.   Hours later...I had to stop...hours!   It’s addictive, creative and really awesome!   Just added Brandon's genius to my "Worth a Visit" list.  Check this out!

From Brandon Stanton’s blog:
My name is Brandon and I began Humans of New York in the summer of 2010.   HONY resulted from an idea that I had to construct a photographic census of New York City.   I thought it would be really cool to create an exhaustive catalogue of the city’s inhabitants, so I set out to photograph 10,000 New Yorkers and plot their photos on a map.   I worked for several months with this goal in mind.   But somewhere along the way, HONY began to take on a much different character.   I started collecting quotes and short stories from the people I met, and began including these snippets alongside the photographs.   Taken together, these portraits and captions became the subject of a vibrant blog, which over the past two years has gained hundreds of thousands of followers.   With over 300,000 collective followers on Facebook and Tumblr, HONY provides a worldwide audience with daily glimpses into the lives of strangers in New York City.

The Grand Nephew...a Budding Political Cartoonist

My niece e-mailed this to me today.   It was composed by my 6 (or 7?) year old grand-nephew.   Trust me...I had nothing to do with this.   I had no influence on him what-so-ever.   I don't even talk politics around him and I don't think he reads this blog!   But perhaps he's seen me in one of my many Obama t-shirts...and he's figured it out!   I just hope the rest of you do!   I love this kid!

p.s.   Check out Obama's ears!   What a hoot!

"I'm sorry!"...an apology...

OK…quite honestly…in my case...I don’t think you or anyone else might be impressed!   But that's another story!   See entry below!

Brilliant…absolutely brilliant.   Oldest daughter tweeted this one!

David Fullarton…you are a genius...and I love your work/illustrations!

We're all in this 2gether

The son of a friend of mine (and former colleague) co-wrote and produced this video.   I think it’s an amazing piece of work.   He was working on this project while his grandmother was ill and recorded her in the last few weeks of her life.   The final picture and voice is his grandmother’s.   I’m sure she would have been very proud. The artist is Lalah Hathaway, daughter of Donny Hathaway, and is available on itunes. Enjoy!

The Brooklyn Art Library!

We took an mini-entourage with us to the Brooklyn Art Library to check out the oldest daughter's   "Sketchbook Project" submission.

Hey!   It was there!   Her name, location (Munich, Germany) barcode and other secret stuff are included on the back of the book.   She even gets an e-mail notifying her if someone decides to "check out" her sketchbook!   Awesome...but scary too!   Dontcha think?

Very cool!   And a good time was had by all.

If you're ever in the area...check it out!
